5-foot-8, 175-pound frame, Kowalec had a great Saturday afternoon in the batter's box. The right-handed hitter went 3-for-3 which included two doubles, a single, and a walk. Kowalec showed rhythm and presence in the box, attacking early and getting the pitch he wanted. His hands worked well, staying compact and to the ball, which let his barrel stay longer in the zone. This allowed him to barrel up balls and drive outside pitches to the opposite field, which he did on his second double. Swinging a hot bat Kowalec looks to follow up this performance with many more this weekend.
