Cameron Schafer: 2B/SS, (2023) Grosse Pointe North, MI. 5-foot-8, 155-pound. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Begins in a tall stance with a wrapping arm bar load, then uses a big leg kick. Bat speed is above average, shows a rotational swing plane and a back foot finish. Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Projectable while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 79 mph; has firm hands, developing feet, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a ¾ slot and a quick arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Clocked a 60 time of 7.59 at the event. Solid on the mound, showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with good arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows high effort. Has a tall balance point with even shoulders. Shows a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 73-75 mph and topped out at 76 mph; has control around the zone and fading action with flat movement. Had gradual action and in the zone control on his 12/6 curveball (61-63). Threw a straight changeup (68-69) with sinking action and low in the zone control.
