The strong-built 6-foot-6, 260-pound lefty began an immediate rise opening weekend at Globe Life where he worked a hard tailing two-seamer to his glove side and a firm four-seamer to stand up right handed batters. He pumped it up to 96, working mostly 93-94, while showing an above average 86-87 slider. He struck out six and allowed just two runs in four innings against Oklahoma State. A couple weeks later at the Cambria Classic in Minnesota he mixed a 91-95 mph fastball with two breaking balls and a low-80s changeup. His value hit a fever pitch in Week Five against Ole Miss with an 11 strikeout performance as he retired the last 23 in a row and sat 92-93 mph in the 9th for a complete game shutout. For the season Owen has produced a 3-0 record with a 2.78 ERA in 35.2 innings with 40 strikeouts against 10 walks.

6-foot-5, 225-pound left-handed pitcher. Good showing as we are seeing him live for the first time. The fastball was up to 86 and downhill in action. The spin pitch is correct in shape, sitting 70-73 mph. The changeup has the correct action, sitting 76-79 mph. The delivery is online, above ¾ in slot. The arm is clean on the backside. The tracking of the front side is excellent and the posture is online throughout. The delivery is sync’d up well at this point. The feel is good and the potential is enormous. Big follow for pro scouts as he enters the 2020 draft. Love the potential and the stuff in the makings.
