Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot, 175lb frame. 6.85 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH. Narrow, slightly open stance, as the barrel begins just above the shoulder. Utilized a lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat, handsy path into the hitting zone. Produced a pull-side approach towards a two-handed finish, working towards an adjustable lead-leg with some give to it. Recorded a T90 mph exit velocity and lived on the sweet spot with some bat-to-ball skills available.
Defensively: The outfielder stayed behind the ball early with a directional attack while fielding off his right side. Squared the hips before reaching back for a 78 mph arm-strength from a shorter H ¾ slot. Projects as a corner piece.
Pitching: LHP. Begins off the left side of the rubber; deep side rocker and pauses at the stack with some hip coil. Clean on the front side at 76-78 mph (2064), flashing hard arm-side run in on lefties. Mixed a gradual, lateral 71-72 mph SL with varying success.
1/30/21
Maryland Preseason Preview
Body: 5’11”, 155 pounds. Athletic body type. Delivery: Pitches from the stretch with a short leg kick into a controlled stride down the mound. Generates some lower half drive off the rubber and finishes in a more upright position. Arm Action: LH. Throws with short arm action from a mid three-quarter slot with light effort. FB: T77 mph, 74-76 mph. Worked down in the zone to both sides of the plate and showed some arm-side run at times. Average spin rate of 2050 rpm per TrackMan. SL: 66-68 mph. Showed short and tight 1/7 shape with an average spin rate of 2143 rpm per TrackMan.
