Body: 6’1’’, 211 pounds. Strong, physical build throughout. Hit: RHH. Balanced, even stance with the hands starting at the shoulder with some rhythm. Utilized a short lift and replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Mostly upright posture and middle of the field approach yielding line drive contact (33% line drive rate). Showed developing bat to ball skills (54% on-plane via Blast Motion) while featuring a table setter, handsy profile at the plate. Power: 89 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Singles power at the moment with occasional doubles power to pull (301 foot peak batted ball). Arm: LH. INF - 81 mph. Quick, high ¾ slot from a deep, long takeaway; smooth arm action out in front. Defense: Arrived on time with a trusted glove hand working out in front off his right side, showcased a feel for lateral movements and set up at a low base with weight on the toes. Adequate comfortability moving around the bag. Run: 8.41 60-yard time.
Delivery: Started from the stretch only primarily from a slightly offset position with the front foot. Sudden leg lift to just above rib height and drive down the rubber landing into a slightly leveraged, stiff front side. Mostly upright land positioning allowing for a 5.64 foot release height via Trackman Baseball. Arm Action: LH. Loose, high ¾ to ¾ slot with smooth actions on the way through. FB: T79 mph, 78-79 mph. Average spin rate of 1928 rpm. Lived down in the zone with some carry present. CB: 60-62 mph. Average spin rate of 1880 rpm. Solid depth with strikeout / swing and miss ability down the road. Loopy, big break to it showing 1/7 tilt.
1/11/20
Strong physical frame that still has some projection left to it. Hits from a open stance, slight crouch, hands set at separation, and bat wraps on load. Uphill tilt to the swing path, bat gets out of the hitting zone quick, and displayed ability to pull hands in when needed. Strength in the frame and swing with some power potential to the pull side. Exit velocity was 84 mph. Glove presents out front, gathers to center, and displayed a slower hand break. Arm action is long and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Positional velocity is 72 mph. Ran a 8.00 60. Narrow tall setup from the stretch on the mound. Repeatable leg lift, down and around with the lead leg to stride, and lands on line. Hips and shoulders level, shoulders closed, and finishes over front side working towards the plate. Full arm action from a three-quarter slot and recoil on finish. Fastball worked across the body at times at 70-73 and touched 74 mph a few times. Flashed some occasional arm side run.
