Junior Ovalle: SS/3B, (2024) Southbridge High School, MA. 170-pound athletic solid build. Projectable in the box, the hitter had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. (63.5 mph bat speed average). (21.8 mph hand speed average). Began in a narrow open stance with a controlled load, then used a closed small stride. Bat speed is quick developing, has a flat loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Through the round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 84 mph; showed developing feet, a natural clean exchange, and developing soft hands. Laterally, movements were developing athletically and fielded the ball out front. Decent accuracy to the bag, used a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot.
