6-foot-1, 200-pounds, big athletic frame, the shoulders are squared off, back is wide has plenty of room for future development. One of the biggest surprises that I’ve seen this winter, had a tremendous workout. A right-handed hitting, catcher with above average arm strength. The setup behind the plate is balanced, relaxed and low to the ground. The hands are strong when receiving, keeps the ball in the zone, gives the umpire something to see. The transfer, right foot replaced left foot, gets glove to throwing hand, across his chest. The arm action is short and clean, has one of the stronger arms I’ve seen. The arm was clocked at 81 mph from the chute, has above average carry, it’s downhill, throws were on the correct side of the bag. Pop times were 2.0-2.13, stands up quick, could stay lower, might help with lowering the time. Offensively, hits from the right side, the setup is balanced and relaxed. The feet are even, just wider than shoulder width, with the hands set at shoulder height. The hands are loose, bat has some tilt to it. For timing uses a controlled high leg kick, gains ground with the stride and uses his entire body to hit the baseball. The swing is flat through the zone, approach is gap to gap, has enough power to beat the outfielders, tee exit was at 98 mph. The finish is above his shoulder with one hand, gets through the baseball extremely well. Big time prospect, need to see him early and often.
