I really like the fluid actions of this young 5-foot-6, 145 pound right-handed hitting infielder. He does a good job of keeping the feet moving before the ball is hit. As contact is made, he moves with ease into position. The glove is soft and he uses his feet to make sure he gets good hops. I like the way he moves laterally. The feet cut angles and he keeps his hips under his shoulders. Once the play is made, he works through the ball in line with the target. He was 73 mph across the diamond, but showed he can use his feet to cut distance. At the plate, he had a tee exit velocity of 76 mph. The set up is compact and open. The hands are relaxed and set in a comfortable spot next to the back shoulder. The load is a simple take back of the hands and a leg lift to get the feet square. The hands are really good as the bat attacks the zone. There is definite bat speed and the path is direct. During the BP he hit a lot of hard line drives.I really like this young infielder. I think he has a chance to be a plus defender and the hand speed at the plate could lead to some plus juice as he continues to develop.
