5-foot-10, 200-pound, strong, durable athletic frame. A well proportioned athlete, hands and forearms have serious strength. A Boston College commit, is one of the better players I’ve seen this past winter. A left-handed hitting catcher, defensive tools are well above average. The setup behind the plate is low to the ground, flexible and moves very well back there. The hands are strong, gets behind the baseball well when receiving it, does a very good job with the low pitch. The arm was clocked at 79 mph from the chute, pop times of 1.90-1.91, has easy carry and life to his throws, baseball gets through second base. The footwork is short, quick, gets himself in line with targets. At the plate, stance is open to even, feet are wider than shoulder width. The hands are loose, gets the hands back into a good hitting position, has some wrap to it. The lower half is under control, gains ground with stride foot, swing path is flat through the zone. The approach was middle to opposite, keeps the hands inside the baseball. A gap to gap hitter, has enough pop to beat the outfielders. Big time player, look for big things at the next level from this one.
