Nivaud is a strong framed 5-foot-11, 175 pound right-handed hitting catcher/infield prospect. He hits out of a wide stance, with the hands relaxed off the back shoulder. A leg lift stacks the weight over the back leg before the bat-head whips through the hitting zone on an uphill path. He stays balanced throughout the swing and finishes through contact.
In the infield, Nivaud was 79 MPH on his throws across the diamond. He moves well and showed good footwork prior to breaking down for the ground ball. He transitions well through the play, showing soft hands and a long arm-swing.
Behind the plate, Nivaud had a pop time range of 2.0-2.25 seconds and a velocity of 72 MPH on his throws. His initial set up is good. The feet are square, with the glove relaxed in the center of the chest. As he begins to transition to throw, the feet are quick. His exchange is clean, allowing the arm to work freely.
