6/20/18

5-foot-9, 160 pounds, average athletic build and proportions, minor slope in shoulders, can still add strength in the upcoming offseason. Ran a 6.96 sixty yard dash. Stands with even feet in the box and weight on the back foot, along with heavy tilt to the bat setup. Solid hip rotation through contact with average bat speed. Bat path is uphill. Batting practice approach was pull heavy. His tee exit velocity was measured at 78 MPH. Good speed in the outfield gives him the chance to play all three positions. Throws from a natural ¾ slot where his throws were clocked up to 75 MPH. A right-handed pitcher, McBride is a sidearmer with a short arm swing. Hands start and stay at the belt. Average stride length out of a simple, repeatable delivery. Fastball comes in from 71-76 MPH with some sink, showed an ability to fill up the zone. Will need to see a velocity spike heading into his senior season to profile on the mound as a starter at the next level. Mixes in a slider between 65-68 MPH. Some tilt on the pitch, could become an out pitch with more development. Firm changeup between 65-66 MPH.

7/26/17
5-foot-8, 150-pound, strong, smaller athletic frame. The hands and wrists have strength to them. A right-handed hitting middle infielder, the top tool is his bat. The stance is spread out, hands are set lower than shoulder height, hands are quiet and get loaded back, bat has tilt to it. For timing uses a straight stride, hands get back into a good launched position. The swing is level to up, rolls the hands late, finishes with two hands. The approach is more to the pull side, had hard contact in batting practice. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 78 mph, and ran a 4.54 from home to first base. Defensively, showed solid prep steps, works from the ground up, surrounds the baseball, keeps the feet moving throughout in transfer. The catch to the throw is clean, arm works out of ¾ slot, clocked at 73 mph. The double play flip was made smoothly, moved fluidly to glove side. Side to side foot speed could improve.

Home-First: 4.54

Exit Velocity: 78 MPH

Arm Velocity: 73 MPH
