Jansen Landen: RHP/3B, (2023) Austin Prep, MA. 6-foot-2, 170-pound lean lanky build. Projectable during batting practice, Landen clocked an exit velocity of 85 mph. (67.1 mph bat speed average). (20.3 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is developing, uses an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Line drive approach. Projectable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 78 mph; showed developing sure hands, a natural exchange, and choppy developing feet. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action. Projectable and above average on the mound, showed a high ¾ arm angle and a loose quick arm action with above average developing arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Displays downhill shoulders with a consistent balance point. Lands closed with a clean finish. Threw his fastball 80-81 mph; showed slight running action and command arm side in the zone. (Max spin 1653; Avg 1602). His curveball (65-66) has glove side control and sweeping action. (Max spin 1924; Avg 1721). His changeup (73-76) shows gradual fading action and arm side around the zone control.
