5-foot-7, 185-pound, smaller, strong, thick athletic frame. The wrists are thick and strong. A right-handed hitter, stance is balanced throughout, feet are slightly open at shoulder width, sits in a small crouch. The hands are set just above the shoulders, bat starts in a tilted and flat position. The path to the baseball is short, hands are really good, swing is down to level to up, stays through, barrel is in the zone a long time, finishes the swing off with two hands. The tee exit velocity is clocked at 83 mph, barrel has life and whip out front. Had hard contact in the cage. Defensively, works off the bag well at first, feet are quick, proper drop steps, gets body in line with target. The hands are soft out front, arm action is slightly longer throws from a high slot, arm works with easy effort, clocked at 69 mph. Behind the plate, setup is balanced, sits low to the ground, looks to be comfortable and relaxed. The hands are soft, gets around pitches and keeps them in the strike zone. The glove to throwing hand quick, longer arm path on the back and leans back which adds time to pop time. The pop time was clocked at 2.37- 2.50. The arm works from a higher slot, clocked at 65 mph. Projects for me as more of a first baseman, hands are strong at the plate and moves well around the bag, overall conditioning is a must.
