6-foot-5, 220-pound right-handed pitcher. We have watched Connor grow into a very good pitching prospect. He is big with leverage and shows a feel for all 3 pitches. The fastball was 88-89 mph with arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is a small slider, sitting in the low 80's. The changeup is a developing pitch for him. The delivery is solid in tempo and he gets into the back leg well at this point. The feet have crossfire to them which leads us to believe there is another velo jump if he can clear the bottom half. The arm works free and clean, slightly above 3/4 in height.

Jernigan is a physical, strong right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a narrow, open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. His hand speed is evident with his swing. The bat is quick as it moves through the hitting zone on a slightly uphill path. His finish is through contact and he remains balanced throughout. Defensively, Jernigan moves well. The feet get him into a good fielding position. He works through the ground ball well and the arm swing is clean. He also had a vertical of 58.4 cm. On the mound, Jernigan worked primarily out of the stretch. The movements were minimal, allowing him to get to a good position at the top and stay in line as he worked down the mound. The arm slot is a long, higher slot producing a fastball that sits (82-83 MPH) with some arm side run. Jernigan also showed the feel for a changeup with some late fade.

6-foot-1, 174 pound, the physically impressive right-handed hitting infielder had a tee exit velocity of 69 mph. The initial set-up is balanced, with the hands set off the back shoulder. The load does a nice job of allowing him to use his strength to attack the hitting zone. The bat-path is flat and he showed some advanced pull side pop.
Defensively, he threw 64 mph across the diamond. The feet are active before the ball is hit. Once contact is made, the feet are deliberate in getting him into the fielding position. The hands are soft as he transitions through the fielding process into the throwing position. He is in line with the target and finishes through his throws.
On the mound, he uses simple mechanics and has good direction through his delivery. He gets to a good position at his balance point before heading down the mound. His direction to home plate is good and showed a quick arm. The fastball had some life and sat 64-70 mph.
I like to frame and the physicality of this young athlete. The potential for growth is evident. I’m looking forward to following his progress.
