Connor Cowern: 2B/3B, (2023) out of Ashland, MA. is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound infield prospect. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 93 MPH, with a (72.2 mph bat speed average) and (21.5 mph hand speed average). He begins in a balanced, open stance with a controlled load. Cowern then uses a closed stride to trigger a swing that takes a simple, flat path through the hitting zone. He stayed on plane long through contact, showed quick hands and the ability to use the whole field. In the infield, Cowern was up to 78 MPH on his throws across the diamond, while showing consistent, smooth feet, a clean exchange, and sure hands during the defensive workout.

2/15/21

Cowern is a 5-foot-8 140 pound right-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a wide, slightly open stance with the hands in a good position.  The load is short and gets him into a good position to hit.  The swing plane is slightly elevated to and through contact, producing a max exit velocity of 89 MPH. Cowern shows the ability to drive the ball gap to gap and good, quick hands.

Defensively, Cowern was 76 MPH across the diamond. As the ball is hit, the feet are athletic. He moves well and gets into a good fielding position. The hands are soft transitioning through the ground ball. The hips and shoulders create a direct line with the target, allowing the arm to work freely. He finishes through the ground ball, staying in line with the target.

The 5-foot-6, 130 pound right-handed hitting infielder had a tee exit velocity of 82 mph.  He hits out of a wide, slightly open stance with the hands in a good position.  The load is short and gets him into a strong position to hit.  The swing plane is direct to and through contact.  He showed the ability to drive the ball gap to gap during the BP.  The hands really work in his swing.

Defensively,  he was 74 mph across the diamond.  Before contact he does a nice job of creating some movement with the feet.  As the ball is hit, the actions are good.  The feet move softly into a good fielding position, with the glove in a relaxed position out front.  He works through the ground ball well, staying in line with the target and the arm is quick.

I like his skillset.  The tools are there to progress into a good player.  I’m looking forward to seeing him in the spring.

5-foot-4, 170-pound right-handed hitting infielder.  The glove is solid, the prep steps to and through the ball need to improve as he matures. Threw 60 mph across the diamond at the event. The arm works, needs to continue to get stronger as he grows in age. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 73 mph. The setup is even in base, back elbow set high to start. The hands are quick and clean to the ball. The path needs to be flattened as the bat head is in and out of the zone too quickly. Adding strength and continuing to develop will be huge for him as he has a good baseline skill set.

INF Velocity- 60 mph
