Left-handed hitting 3rd baseman with very good grades. Shows a solid glove at 3rd and the arm to play there, arm velocity of 84 from the hot corner. The bat works and the path is flat and quick, tee exit velocity of 89. Ran a 4.43 down the line. Spread the field in batting practice and shows very good pull side power in game. Could kick to the outfield if need be, but his worth will be in the middle of the order. On the mound, he showed a high ¾ slot with a 80 mph fastball and good feel for the changeup at 72. The spin was light at 62. Look for him to only play positionally at the next level.
12/6/14
Left-handed hitting third baseman with an athletic build at 6-foot, 180-pounds. Currently ranked 29th in the 2016 rankings. Very good tools across the board, glove plays at third and he moves very well over at the hot corner. Threw 82 mph across the diamond out of a high-¾ slot with plenty of carry. Backhand and drop step were done very well at the event. Ran a 5.00 and did it with a smooth minimal effort. The bat is good as his set up is simple, slightly wide on the base and stays in position on the bottom half as the ball approaches. The path is flat and strong as he is a gap-to-gap guy now that could have plus power down the road. Showed plus bat head speed with an 88 mph tee exit velocity.
A left-handed hitting third baseman who can also kick out to the outfield. AJ has very good athleticism with the ability to make plays with his feet and his bat. The athletic prospect shows good range and has enough arm to play the hot corner or the outfield.
