Physical 6'0" 190 lbs. frame with present lower half strength; Benoit is a guy that we've had the opportunity to see over the course of the last 12 months, as he's attended a couple of our events. A right-handed hitter; Benoit has a simple set-up in the box and direct path to the ball with a gap to gap approach. In this look, we saw Benoit take a couple of good at-bats and singled in the 4th inning to centerfield. Positional versatility is something that makes him very interesting, as we've now seen him play third base and catcher for the Tors, and that versatility should also be appealing to college recruiters as they start to get back out on March 1.
6/02/21
Positional Profile: C and 3B
Body: Athletic and physical 6’0†190 lbs. frame.
Hit: Begins a taller, slightly open stance with hands held just above shoulder height. Simple load and stride to get to center. Delivers the barrel directly to the baseball with slightly uphill extension. Consistently found the barrel during BP, driving balls from gap to gap.
Power: Max exit velocity of 85 mph.
Arm: release. Short and whippy arm action. INF velocity of 85 mph. C Velocity of 75 mph.
Defense: Behind the plate, stayed down in his crouch a long time creating a realistic pop time of 1.98-2.04. Quick footwork with aggressive throws down to 2B that had backspin and carry. On the dirt, profiles as a 3B. Moved well laterally and threw from different angles.
Run: Posted a 7.37 in the 60.
