Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a somewhat ‘drop and drive’ style of delivery. Somewhat mechanical in his movements.
Fastball: 75-79 mph with a natural sinking action that showed some arm side run at times. Movement was accentuated when located down in the zone and to his arm side.
Curveball: 69-72 mph pitch slider shape. Keeps good arm speed to maximize deception but the arm slot does noticeably lower at times on the pitch.
Changeup: 70-71 mph changeup that is pretty true through the zone.
Pitchability: Pretty good feel for his pitches. Changeup is in early stages of development and slider could be more refined and consistent.
Role: Decent stuff but currently lacking some polish, probably more of a bullpen type.
1/21/19 Body Type: 6-foot 205-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Tall stance. Athletic load that leads to a balanced launch.
Hit: Swing works. Finds plane well, allowing him a large margin for error and the ability to use all fields. Obvious physicality to stroke. Has a chance to be dynamic once bat speed catches up to strength.
Power: 86 mph exit velocity. Ball jumps with present gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer potential.
Run: 7.44 60-yard dash.
Field: Worked out a third base where he attacks the baseball with direct footwork. Actions are athletic on the move. Made a great play to his forehand side.
Throw: 77 mph arm strength across the infield. Long arm action through a high-¾ slot.
Defensive Projection: 3B.
1/15/18
Ran an 8.14 60-yard dash. Frame fits the first base position. Hands works well out in front of his body. Made outstanding diving play to his backhand side. Displayed feel for the spot with lateral mobility being the area of improvement. Showed off 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. A middle of the lineup type bat who swings it from the right side. Loading sequence is relatively simple prior to launch, incorporating a slight back load during his stride. Strength stands out in swing as the bat travels on a level plane to the baseball. Swings with intent and doesn’t get cheated up there. Showed the ability to drive the baseball with authority in BP. Reached a top exit velocity of 78 mph.
