1/26/19
Body Type: 6-foot, 150-pound average frame.
Swing Mechanics: Barrel flows to a vertical launch during short stride for timing.
Hit: Compact, downhill path to contact. Middle-away approach in BP, staying inside the ball nicely.
Power: 70 mph exit velocity. Swing offers a bit more quickness than it does power at this stage. Line drive guy in general with more to come.
Offensive Projection: Ball Mover.
Run: 4.72 H-1st.
Field: Plays low and under control through fielding in the infield. Not a flashy defender but looks to be sure-handed.
Throw: Short, clean arm action. Accuracy over strength. Topped at 67 mph across the infield.
Defensive Projection: Could see him at all three skill spots.
1/27/18
5-foot-5, 140 pound right-handed hitter made great contact resulting in several line drives throughout his round. Holmes has more of an uphill path that stays on plane for the most part unless he pulls off which he did for some pitches preventing him from squaring the ball up. He hit 69 on the radar gun for his exit velocity which is sure to improve throughout his high school years as he develops. In the infield, his footwork was fine with some quickness needing to be added but they are sufficient for him now. His hands were fine fielding, but he needs to come through the ball instead of waiting on it. His arm strength was 66 mph across the diamond fitting him more for the role of a second basemen right now until he can move quicker and improve his arm strength.
