10/2/16 - Max FB: 83, FB: 79-83, CB: 70-72, CH: 76-77,
6-foot-1, 188-pound, LHP showed very similarly to what we’ve seen from him at all previous events, athletic with a confident presence on the mound that shows a lot of control and command, works with good tempo and has a clean and longer arm action that comes through a high ¾ slot, strides mostly in line and lands athletically with good balance.  Fastball stayed mostly straight, curveball was sharp with 1/7 shape, and changeup was thrown with good arm action, all three pitches were thrown with good command and filled up the strike zone.  Recorded 2 strikeouts without allowing a hit in his 2 innings on the mound. Allen has committed to Wabash Valley JC since the event.
6/15/16 - Max FB: 85, FB: 82-83, CB: 71-74, CH: 76-77
6-foot, 175-pound LHP started game one of the day in impressive fashion. Allen has an athletic presence on the mound and competes well, arm works cleanly through a high-3/4 slot, continues to show increases in velocity at each event, fastball seems to get on hitters quickly and he attacks both sides of the plate, throws a sharp 1/7 curveball for consistent strikes that produced several swings and misses, also showed feel for a solid changeup with late fade, worked two quick innings allowing one hit with three strikeouts and no walks. Allen has worked himself into being one of the top uncommitted left-handers in the 2017 class.
1/24/16 - Max FB: 81, FB: 79-81, CB: 67-71, CH: 75-77
6-foot, 175-pound LHP has shown a steady increase in velocity. Arm works cleanly and is athletic through a high-3/4 slot, fastball shows occasional cutting action and is consistent in the strike zone, has good feel for sharp 1/7 curveball with tight spin, changeup is solid but will be more effective with bigger velocity difference off fastball. Allen continues to improve each time we see him with additional velocity likely to come.
8/2/15 - 6-foot-1, 170-pound LHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with short arm action and regular effort, deliberate delivery, clean arm action, fastball sat 75-78 mph with some cutting action, throws a 66-69 mph curveball that varied between sharper 1/7 action and sweeping 2/8 action, also showed a 69-72 mph slider with short/late break, good feel for 72-75 mph changeup that is mostly straight and will be more effective with slightly bigger velocity difference off fastball. As a position player, right handed hitter hits from a balanced stance, short stride, shows occasional gap to gap power, loose hands create some barrel whip through the zone, registered an 80 mph exit velocity off the tee, ran a 7.44 60-yard dash. Shows good athleticism defensively, moves well around the bag, soft hands, accurate throws, 76 mph velocity across the infield, combination of offensive ability and athleticism at first base make him a player to watch in the 2017 class.
