My first-ever look at Diggs was during the Covid summer at the Midwest Scouts Association Showcase in Kansas City when he was a prep entering his senior year of high school. Playing third base at the time, he wore a bad hop ground ball to his face. Taking just a few pitches off, Diggs was back at the hot corner on a smoking hot, 95-plus degree day. As a Razorback, the grit and grind is still obvious. He’s the type of player that scouts cheer for. This weekend his swing was just a bit off. Instead of staying inside the baseball and driving it where pitched, Diggs was out front and around the baseball much of the weekend. Most of his contact went on the ground to the right side and he was not able to get to his slightly above average raw power. With that said, his natural feel for hitting enabled him to have a very productive weekend reaching base nine times with four hits, four walks and one hit by pitch. This feel to hit will also enable him to make adjustments quickly, whether it’s this coming week or his future years in pro ball.

Cape Cod: Wasn’t the same threat in the batter’s box for Bourne (.214, four XBH in 70 at-bats) as he was for the Razorbacks (.297 with 12 home runs) last spring, but he dug in, stayed the course and contributed to the Braves championship playing all eight games of their run through the playoffs. The 6-foot, 205-pound right fielder has some pull pop from the left side, in addition to showing above average arm strength and an average run tool once underway.

The star of Saturday's thriller was freshman Kendall Diggs who hit a walk-off, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth. The eight pitch battle was a testament to the internal fortitude of Diggs who in earlier at-bats barreled a pair of balls, both with 100+ mph exit velocities, that were caught for outs. His majestic game-winner was a thing of beauty as it left the bat at 102.4 mph with a launch angle of 23 degrees. It traveled 389' into Macke's Bases Loaded Landing of Baum-Walker Stadium.

Great one to dream on with his tools and athleticism, while also showing skill for the game and toughness at the hot corner, taking a bad hop grounder off the throat in the middle innings. His enthusiasm throughout the day was also very refreshing to watch. Solid approach in the box. Looks to be able to hit for power and average from the LH side. Ran a 6.63 60.

Diggs has top-notch barrel control with excellent eye-hand coordination proven by the multiple line drives his swing produced over the weekend. Diggs has a simple and short swing with a quiet approach. He showed ability to drive balls to both gaps with quick bat speed. He ran a 7.00 60 and produced an 88 mph exit velocity. On the infield, Diggs posted an 86 mph throw across the infield with a loose and easy arm stroke. He has athletic footwork to the ball with clean exchanges and makes accurate throws. Diggs will be a top player to watch in the 2021 class.

Diggs is a 5-foot-11 155-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 6.78 60 and a 4.53 home to first. He has a 91 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth and controlled load, in line stride, accelerated swing with loose hand and quick bat speed, feel for the barrel, showed ability to drive the ball to both gap in hitting evals, repeats swing. On the infield, 81 mph positional velocity, short over the top arm slot, athletic and controlled footwork to the ball, soft hands with clean exchange, quick release, accurate throws, player with high ceiling in the 2021 class.
