At the plate, balanced set up, some pre-pitch rhythm in hands, controlled and short stride, loose hands level through the zone, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.09 and 2.15-seconds, 68 mph positional velocity, wide base in set up, quick transfer with high exchange, quick footwork, mostly accurate throws with carry to the bag.

2/24/18 - Baranczuk is a slender 5-foot-10 135-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 4.77 home to first and has a 73 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, in line stride, no wasted movement pre-swing, level path though the zone, gap to gap approach.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.16 and 2.40-seconds, 65 mph positional velocity, slightly offset in feet during set up, sits low and has flexibility, over the top arm slot, clean exchange with feet creating momentum to throw, mostly accurate throws.

10/22/17 - Baranczuk is a long limbed and lean 5-foot-10 135-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 8.12 60 and ran a 5.00 home to first.  He has a 74 mph exit velo. At the plate, middle of the field approach, level path, balanced set up, early stride, no wasted movement in hands, doubled to right center in game action.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.19 and 2.39-seconds, 63 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick catch and throw, clean exchange, flexible set up, mostly accurate throws, actions and build would suggest increases as he continues to develop.
