4/28/13 Game Notes: Birch is a 6-foot-1 wide shouldered righty. Leg goes up and comes straigt back down before gaining ground. Birch pitched 82-85 and has been up to 87 in the past. The arm action is clean with not a lot of effort. Fastball is straight from a high 3/4. Breaking ball is 72-76 with mostly 74-75. It is a good pitch with depth still inconsistent at times.
