Spring Scout Blog: 6-foot-4, 185 pound uncommitted RHP. Klein continues to develop a pitcher's physique and brought recent showcase velocity to a game mound opening night at home. Righty throws from the 3/4 slot with good quick arm rotation that can be short in back. Fastball had some run action 83-85 on the night touching 86 a couple times in the first two frames. Curveball was down in the zone and a mixed in some tight movement. Slider was better, but the two pitches did display similar shapes at times. Both caused swings and misses from good opposing hitters. As discussed in a winter showcase, projectable velocity increases will likely be seen this season.
