2017 Spring Scout Blog: The 6'1", 185 pound right handed senior sat 82-83 early with good command and feel on the mound. Fastball has some lateral arm side run to it. Mixed in a low, sidearm two-seam fastball that was 80-81 for show and deception. Breaking ball was 66-68mph with normal 11/5 break. Mixed two pitches well throughout the game. Delivery is repeatable with good direction and path down the mound. Arm swing is clean to release at high 3/4 slot. Athletic shortstop off the mound and fields position well. Physical bat in the lineup with an advanced approach. Consistently barreled the baseball in both times we have seen play this spring. Slightly open, squatty stance from the right side with hands off the shoulder. Quiet, simple load with separation and hands working a little low to load the barrel. Barrel gets tall in the back before launch. Front foot lands open to allow lower half to work through the baseball. Stays connected throughout and was consistently on time with swing. Line drive swing with some lift and power up the middle. Marian commit.
