Young, strong, well-proportioned body with strength. Lean and has good frame to continue to fill out. Legs have good life and he has bounce in his step. Fast twitch type actions. His swing starts with a stand up approach with a rhythm load up, knees slightly pinched in. Pre-load hands draw back to trigger his barrel start. Has a slight hip drift and will jump out at times to ball but this is correctable as his hands work to zone well and has hard contact. Timing will continue to improve as he trusts his hands and lets his athleticism take over. Bat speed and whip is present. Runs very well and accelerates his speed quickly when needs too. Shows very good range as he converges on ball hit to him. Arm is accurate and sure as an outfielder. Very fluid balance and understanding of his gait well. Ran a 6.54 60 dash and probably as he gets stronger there will be another jump in time. He will excel at the next level with speed, defense and hit ability. McClaren’s power will project over time as he develops his style of play. Good baseball profile for future.
