When talking about a long line of power arms coming out of the Hoosier State, Wagner has cemented himself as next in line. A pristine, 6-foot-5, 205-pound frame is matched only by his strong right arm. Working 87-89 and touching 91 with more in the tank, there is some natural inconsistency to the slot as he continues to build confidence in the movement patterns of his long frame, but when things sync up with the hand placement, the ball explodes through the zone. While the arm talent and frame are exciting, his ability to compete, and especially to disrupt timing by changing speeds stands out even more. He shows feel for both a changeup (78-79) and slider (76-78) and both have upside as potential above average offerings in the future.
