6/04/19
6-foot, 185-pound RHP. Shows athletic ability on the mound with a strong lower half; strong, quick motion; locates FB well; stays on top of pitches well and has good FB rotation; 81-83 mph FB. Throws all pitches for strikes and shows great pitch ability; 68-70 mph CB; 75-77 mph CH.
10.22.17 Stremlaw had one of the better days at the Fall Finale and saw improvements to his numbers in all areas of the game. Really impressed on the mound with quick arm out front from 3/4 slot and stayed in the bottom of the strike zone for the majority of his session. Fastball had life out the hand with natural run at 79-80 and curveball was tight and showed late downward action. At the plate, hit from balanced and slightly open stance, hands have some movement and gets the bat started. Line drive type gy at the moment, at best when he worked to ball and generated from his lower half, good extension after contact with high finish. Clean actions with arm strength from the outfield and proper footwork. Overall two-way guy who right now can compete with tools and a quick arm that shows a lot of upside and promise for the 2020 grad.
2.20.17 Young 2020 two-way grad listed at 5-foot-8, 138-pounds. Worked out off the mound and as outfielder. Rana 60 time of 7.87. Defensively, fielded balls cleanly and with a purpose, arm was loose and velocity was 74 mph from the outfield. At times would get to low from 3/4 arm slot and ball would begin to tail. Offensively, hits from wide, crouched position from the left side, looks to turn barrel over and get flat through the hitting zone, at times was late with timing and getting the bat started from launch position. Exit velocity was 68 mph. On the mound, Stremlaw worked out the full and had good rhythm and tempo to delivery. Repeated actions and worked from a clean, almost low-3/4 arm slot that was loose and easy for him. Fastball was in the mid 70's with run while curveball flashed spin at 65-66 mph with downward action when out front and down in the zone. Changeup was 65-67 and mirrored his fastball actions. Overall, young player with good feel for the game and a foundation that you can work with. Like how the arm works and added strength and maturing will be huge for Stremlaw down the road. 60-Yard Dash: 7.87 Exit Velocity: 68 OF Velocity: 74
