A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
RHP/MIF Tall lean build and good frame to fill out in future. Has a slightly open stance approach to start swing, with pinched in front knee, starts barrel at shoulder height on pre-load. Has small pause at top of swing load, gives him timing and balance to impact ball. Full two handed swing path after impact. Siren displayed a good arm and accurate throws as an OF. Ran 7.25 60-yard dash. As a RHP, he starts in the middle of rubber with a short stride step to side. H ¾ release point, good shoulder range of motion. Separates hands and glove over front knee, on abbreviated delivery. Short strider on most pitches, has 3-pitch mix with good accurate pitches. FB 82-84, CB 65-68, CH 67-68.
8/29/20
Luke Siren: OF/RHP, (2022) Fort Wayne Northrop, IN. 5-foot-11, 155-pound lean frame. Capable at the plate, the right-handed hitter's 90 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Starts in an athletic balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick to initiate his swing. Bat speed is raw, shows simple swing plane and level finish. Barreled up some balls with a lot of loud contact. Up the middle approach. In the infield, has soft hands. Capable from the outfield, his best throws to the bases were registered at 83 mph; has consistent feet, twitchy sure hands and a clean fluid exchange. Used a quick arm action and an-over-the-top slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.23. Smooth on the mound, used a very quick arm action and an over-the-top arm angle while showing quick arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who uses high effort. Tall balance point with even shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Curveball (68-69 mph), changeup (69-71 mph).Sat with his fastball at 81-83 mph and topped out at 84 mph; has a heavy fastball that shows arm side control and hard action.

2/16/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-9 147-pound prospect showed a smaller build and frame currently but projection still remains. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a ¾ arm slot with smooth, athletic movement patterns. Clean arm action, and he shifts his hips and center of mass well to maximize his lower half. Fastball: 77-80 mph fastball was mostly true but did show some promising fade and sink. Breaking Ball: 61-62 mph breaking ball showed curveball actions. The curveball showed decent shape and spin and he was able to create some depth on the pitch. Pitchability: Currently a two pitch guy who showed good command of both of his pitches. Role: As a 2022 he shows starter raw potential but as he increases the level of play developing a changeup and refining his breaking ball will be very important to remain as a starter.
Body Type: 5-foot-9, 147 pounds. Leaner frame with room to grow.
Swing Mechanics: Hits in the box from a wide base showing a longer, more level bat path. Progressing in his ability to maintain weight transfer to produce consistent results.
Hit: Contacts the ball with the barrel well overall hitting line drives. More potential in his swing as he grows. Power: 77 mph exit velocity. Exhibited some nice power pull-side.
Offensive Projection: TBD for now as he fills out. There is potential in his abilities. Run: 4.93 seconds home to first. Field: As an outfielder he showed clean glovework while fielding the baseball. Footwork presented well for the event as he takes momentum into each of his throws leading to greater arm strength and velocity. Actions overall defensively were nice for this younger athlete. Throw: Exhibited his arm strength 78 mph from the outfield. Defensive Projection: Outfield.
