6-foot-1, 215-pound RHP. Shows athletic ability, a live, flexible arm and a strong lower half. Has life on FB with good rotations; 81-84 mph FB; CB has depth and control when he stays on top; 70-72 mph CB. Can locate off-speed pitches for strikes; shows ability to overpower hitters with FB.
2019 INDIANA STATE GAMES: Workhorse frame with a strong lower half takes the mound at 6-foot-1, 215 pounds. The states No. 24 overall prospect in the 2021 class, Leverton used a heavily favored fastball that had some run action at 82-85. Was able to fill up the zone in the first two innings before losing a bit of command as the game progressed. Breaking ball had some difficulty staying consistent but it may be a good pitch down the road. ¾ quick arm with good balance and effort. Some rhythm in the delivery, but lost it a bit towards the end of his day. Lands square with an upright finish.
2/23/2019: Luke Leverton, RHP/3B, Seton Catholic HS, 2021, 6 foot 1, 210 pounds, is a big bodied right hander with good feel for his stuff and the strike zone. Works from a mid ¾ slot and medium arm action, and gets down the mound with good balance and pace. Fastball sat 84-85 with some ASR and average effort. Changeup sat 76-78 with some arm side sink. Slider has short tight shape with good spin and sat 72-76. Curveball sat 67-68 with good down 11/5 shape. Luke is a high follow in the 2021 class.
