6/25/15: The 5-foot-11 175 pound MIF ran a 7.3 60 yard dash. Defensively, Joey made every play look easy. Soft hands, quick exchange, and a loose arm. Good range left to right. Infield velocity was 77mph. Offensively, Joey has a slightly open setup. Joey has above average bat speed and a level bat path. His exit velocity was 85mph. On the mound sat 79-82 with his fastball. Breaking ball showed late action from an 11/5 shape at 68-69. Changeup was thrown with near FB arm speed at 72-73 with occasional sink action. Pitches from a short 3/4 arm action with good arm speed. Easy effort in the delivery.
2/21/15: 5-foot-11, 175 pound SS showcased fluid actions in the field with good hands and a clean exchange. Plays through the baseball. Long arm action across the field at 82 mph. Ran a 7.44-60. At the plate hits from a tall, open setup. Loads back and uses a short stride. Possesses some bat speed with a good approach to the ball. Short path, fluid rhythm. Line drive hitter with some pull-side power. Recorded a high exit velo of 86 mph.
PITCHING- 5-foot-11, 175 pound righty comes at hitters from a long, ¾ arm delivery with average arm speed. Good rhythm in the delivery with level shoulders and in line to the plate. Lands square. Fastball has some sink to it at 79-80. Breaking ball was 72-74 with gradual break. Slows his arm down on the 69-70 mph changeup, but keeps it in the zone with some fade.
9/23/12: Drury runs a 7.13 sixty. Across the diamond he is 66 mph and fields it well for a freshman. At the plate he starts upright with an open stance. At times he never closes his stance causing his bat to drag through the zone. When getting closed he shows the ability to turn on the ball.
