6/12/18: 2019 RHP/1B out of Reitz Memorial who showed upside on the mound. Hits from the right side tall closed set up. Stiff lower half in swing. Bat speed was average in BP but did post an exit velo of 90. Bat path is level through the zone, stride to contact point is long. Lands front foot early in swing. On the mound pitches from high ¾ arm slot. Arm stroke is short and quick with some rhythm to delivery. Has some effort to delivery as well. Head jerk in delivery off to 1B. FB showed some arm side run at 85-87 T89 with more in the tank with a projectable frame. Mixed in 11/5 shape CB for swing and misses at 67-71.
2/25/18: 60 Time: 7.71, Position Velocity: INF-77, Exit Velocity: 90
Physical, 6-foot-4 prospect, raw swing from the right side with plus bat speed. Pull side approach, slightly closed and inward turn to load, small one piece stride to separate, hand stay quiet off the back shoulder. Partial lower half, back side struggles to get completely through swing. Raw power to lift baseball pull side out of the park. Raw defensive actions at first base, glove actions stiff with low arm slot across the diamond to throw. Bat and defense plays behind the arm on the mound.
Pitching: Continues to show improvement on the bump, chance to make another jump this spring. Mechanics are starting to clean up and repeat, showcased some arm speed with short arm swing, late separation at times. Rushed at times down the mound, simple lift and drive delivery, lands slightly closed on the front leg, creates natural down angle. In line down the mound, commanded the fastball with some life. Fastball was 86-88, topping at 89 with heavy action late in the zone. Gradual break on the curveball, thrown at 71-73, 10/4 break. Changeup had arm side run, 78-81, pushed into the strikezone. Cutter has chance to be good out pitch, thrown hard at 81-83, with side to side break, outer half command.
10/15/17: 6-foot-4, 210 pound pitcher continues to improve velocity on the mound. Up to 89, sitting 85-88, featured a quick arm with lower half strength. Timing and mechanics are raw. Late separation, low front side, and a short arm swing. Drop and drive type delivery. Soft landing. Above average command of the fastball. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with gradual break. Change-up is thrown with stiff wrist, some arm side run. Right-handed hitter has a balanced setup with short stride and minimal hand load. Above average bat speed. Exit velocity topped 85. Stiff hands, level path through the zone.
2/25/17: 6-foot-3, 205 pounds. Offensively, balanced/closed setup, minimal load, short stride, partial rotation with the lower half, average balance throughout the swing. Bat tends to drag through the zone, level swing plane, stiff rhythm. Registered a high exit velocity of 83 mph. Defensively, was 78 across the INF.
9/24/16: The 6-foot-3 205 pound right-handed pitcher sat 76-78 with the fastball. Commands his arm side well. Fastball has some sink and late run. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with late break. Change-up thrown near FB arm speed with late fade at 63-66. Delivery has smooth rhythm and a tilt to topple lower half. Arm action is short, quick with a high-3/4 slot. Offensively, Housman produced line drives during batting practice with fluid rhythm and good balance. Bat speed is average. Exit velocity topped at 77mph. At first base, hands are above average with fluid footwork. Plays thru the ball well.
8/21/16: The RHP sat 79-80 with a high ¾ arm slot and good size frame. Breaking ball was 71-72 with gradual break. Will need to develop the breaking ball as he matures. Change-up has ASR and good command. Isaac ran a 7.92 60yd dash and hit with a tall, balanced setup. Bat speed is above average with a choppy rhythm.
