Line drive hitter with above average bat speed. Registered an exit velo of 87 mph.
12/7/14: A 5-foot-10, 160 pound Junior catcher possesses an athletic frame. Quiet receiver with soft hands. Needs to improve lateral quickness. Strong, accurate arm at 77 mph. Pop times were 2.00-2.10. Offensively, starts in a balanced setup and uses a short stride. Hands have a tendency to drop during the load. Good balance throughout with some bat speed. Swing path is level and gets to extension. Line drive hitter with occasional gap power. Overall fluid rhythm. Registered an exit velo of 82 mph.
12/28/13: 5-foot-10, 160 pound sophomore displayed a wide base with a solid foundation behind the plate. From the crouch was 72 mph. Showcased pop times between 2.20-2.26. Offensively starts slightly open with high hands. Stride is short with a smooth load. Shows good use of lower half. Bat speed is above average and posted an exit velo of 81 mph. Overall advanced approach at the plate with a short path to the baseball consistently producing line drives. Should increase power as he adds strength.
