2/16/2019: Gehrig Smalstig, C/OF, Yorktown HS, 2020, 5 foot 11, 190 pounds, has good bat speed from the left side using a very compact short limbed swing. Gets on plane and uses lower half very well in swing and had an exit velo of 93 mph. Behind the plate he had pop times ranging 2.05-2.11 and threw 73 mph from the crouch.
6/12/18: 2020 stocky build catcher out of Yorktown. Hits from the left side showed good pull side power during his round of BP. Bat path was long and level through the zone. High finish, uses short stride to baseball. Bat speed is quick. Behind the dish showed average footwork and exchange, arm was average as well. Pops ranged in 2.01-2.08.
