Thompson was one of my favorite hitters from this event, taking up the box with his athletic, 6-foot-3, 185 pound frame. He is able to control his weight from a wide, grounded stance with a short hand path that is geared toward backspinning the baseball. He showed developing gap-to-gap power, with his best ball leaving at 90 mph, a number that should elevate as he adds strength. Thompson turned in an above average run time (7.19) and he also doubles as a projectable, strike-throwing southpaw on the bump.
