9/10/17: 60 Time: 8.06, Position Velocity: INF-68, Exit Velocity: 69. 5-foot-11, 135 pound freshman middle infielder uses toe tap to load with short, choppy rhythm to produce line drive swing from the right side. Contact hitter, hands get long with weight sliding forward to front side before contact. Long, level bat path through the zone, head/eyes changes plane with load and swing. More bat speed and strength with better use of lower half. Young, athletic prospect with ¾ arm slot across the diamond, long arm action to throw. Travels with the baseball to throw, front side pulls left to throw resulting in some arm side run to first base. More footspeed and strength to be added to young frame. PITCHING: Raw, wiry freshman frame, uses regular effort down the mound with long arm action and below average arm speed. Good stride length and directions down the mound, lower half needs more strength. Mixed 4 seam/2 seam fastball for strikes arm side of the plate, ball stayed flat, thrown at 65-69. Slider was thrown with gradual side to side break, 60-62 on the outer half of the plate. Changeup showed arm side fade and was thrown 60-62. Long loose limbs, chance to throw harder with more strength and arm speed development.
