4/9/2019 Spring Scout Blog: 6-foot-3, 200 pound southpaw was 82-83,T85. The breaking ball was 71-72 from a high 3/4 slot with late break. Worked deep into counts all night long, left 2 balls over the plate, one ended in a 3-run homer in the 1st. Settled in after that. Final Line: 5IP, 3R, 3H, 2BB, HBP, 13K. Cincinnati commit.
4/18/2018 Spring Scout Blog: Linn sat 77-78 and touched 81 in his 4 innings of work. He scattered 4 hits and 3 walks while compiling 5 strikeouts but had to settle for the loss. 1/7 curveball was consistently at 69-71.
2017 Spring Scout Blog: Already 6-foot-3, 190-pounds as a freshman, Linn is a left-hander to take notice of heading into the summer. Linn’s fastball has run up into the low eighties throughout the spring, and features a medium-sized swing that shows quickness especially out front in his hand speed. While he is able to repeat his delivery and high ¾ arm slot fairly easily, Linn is still discovering the new movement patterns that his long frame has developed, and should see an increase in velocity in the near future with more use of his lower body. HIs changeup (71-72) is, currently, his best secondary offering, and it features sinking, swing and miss action in the zone, and is thrown with confidence. He also flashes a 1/7 breaking ball (69-72). Overall, Linn’s long, projectable frame will attract recruiters to his games all summer as schools look to at a possible starter to their recruiting classes.
