Ayers

An Indiana State recruit, Chris went 1-3 with a strikeout.  He struggled on the LHP Cunningham.  His single was into left center off a RHP.  Load is short and hands are quick.  Ayers is a plus runner.  Had a bad read in the OF on a line drive but also made a few nice plays with his speed.

MWFG. 8/16/13:  Ayers is a left handed hitting outfielder from Westfield, one of the favorites in the outfield at the MWFG.  Continues to improve every time out. The outfielder runs well, 4.18 down the line. He was 89 from the outfield and 86 on the mound. With it being his first year roaming the outfield there is still room to develop out there, but Ayers made a great play cutting a ball off in the gap and almost ran down a sure double. Offensively, Ayers was 2-2 in game one with tough left on left matchups. 

1/23/13:

6-foot-2, 170 pound sophomore who shows good athleticism.  From the OF he displays a strong, accurate arm at 83 mph.  His arm action is short and quick.  At the plate he shows a balanced approach with a short stride.  Ayers uses a short path to the baseball producing line drives.  He had the third best exit velo at the event, 86 mph. On the mound he throws from a high ¾ arm slot with a heavy fastball at 82-86 mph.  He throws a 12/6 curveball at 63-66 mph, along with a 69-71 mph changeup that shows some sink action.  Ayers ran an event best 6.72 60, and had the top vertical leap of 31.5 inches.
