Hit: (RHH) Advanced. Started in an open wide stance with a smooth load, then used a toe tap stride. Explosive bat speed. Good extension on his finish, upward swing. Aggressive gap to gap approach.
Power: 106 mph exit velocity, average 97.0 mph. 69.0 mph bat speed average. 23.3 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (IF) Soft hands, quick footwork, natural exchange. Solid.
Arm: 88 mph infield velocity. Short quick arm action, an-over-the-top slot.
Speed: 7.00 (60-yard).
Carter Murphy: 3B/SS, (2023) West Vigo, IN. 6-foot-1, 215-pound solid frame. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.53. Projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter showed his power ability with an exit velocity of 91 mph. Began in an open stance with a wrapping load, then used a short stride to initiate his swing. Ended his swing with good extension on his finish. A gap to gap approach with legitimate power potential in the future. Showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 85 mph (88 OF). Arm action was long. Athletic actions defensively. Showcased soft hands with the ability to really pick the baseball at 3B. Quick, clean exchange, works through the baseball. Fluid footwork.
