2/17/18:  5-foot-8, 155 pound infielder hits from an open setup with short, closed off stride.  Hands wrap during load.  Above average balance throughout swing.  Average bat speed, contact hitter.  High exit velocity of 78.  Defensively, hands are above average with flat footwork.  Long arm swing into high 3/4 release.  Makes the routine play.  Throws topped 81mph across.  Ran a 7.55 60 yard dash.

 
2017 Spring Scout Blog:  Undersized sophomore second baseman displayed good defensive actions and a short swing at the plate. 5'8", 150 pounder played tough at second base with good hands and range to his left, delivered accurate throws. Patient approach from the right side at the plate with a very short, compact swing. Does not possess power at the plate but has good barrel control through the zone producing line drives to middle/opposite field. Got into good hitting counts and worked counts well from the second spot in the lineup.

2/25/17:  5-foot-8, 145 pound infielder has a tall, open setup at the plate.  Low hands, load back as leg kick gets into long stride.  Lot of moving parts.  Gets into a good position at land.  Bat path is slightly uphill with some bat speed.  Howard has fluid footwork with a quick, clean transfer.  Throws topped at 76 across the infield with accuracy.  He ran a 7.47 60 yd dash.

1/31/16: 5-foot-7, 125 pounder ran a 7.47-60 and was 73 across the diamond.   Currently possesses raw defensive actions up the middle.  Offensively, hits from a wide, slightly open setup.  Stride is short.  Shows good balance in the swing with average bat speed.  Rhythm is stiff.  In/out type swing path.  Recorded a high exit velocity of 71 off the tee.
