Hands work through the ball to a two hand finish, has bat speed, and had an exit velo of 92 mph. Sets up athletic behind the plate, showed solid transfer with good feet on his throws and threw 74 mph while recording pop times of 1.98-2.07.
3/26/18 Spring Scout Blog: 5-foot-11, 175 pound freshman right-handed hitter hit a double that short-hopped the left-center fence in his first at bat. Displayed a quick barrel and a balanced swing. Short to contact, creates an uphill path with extension. Aggressive hitter. Finished 1-4 but showed he can handle high-end arms that he faced.
2/24/18: 5-foot-11, 175 pound catcher has a quick, short exchange into high 3/4 slot. Long footwork, some quickness. Strong arm for his age. Accurate throws topped at 73. Pop times ranged between 2.01-2.06. Hits from a balanced setup, slight leg kick in load. Level, long bat path. Line drives in the middle of the field during his round. Partial use of lower half. Load needs to get more consistent to be on time. High exit velocity of 81mph.

Bat speed is above average for his age. Defensively, footwork is fluid, long. Exchange is clean with a high 3/4 short arm action. Hands are hard during receiving. Will need to improve quickness throughout actions behind the plate.
