Bryce Franklin: SS/RHP, (2021) South Ripley, IN. 6-foot-4, 170-pound projectable frame. During batting practice, had an exit velocity of 79 mph. Started in a tall open stance with a toe tap. Bat speed is quick and has a flat swing plane. Found some barrels through his rounds. Athletic while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 79 mph; has consistent footwork and a clean fluid exchange. Used a high ¾ slot with Short swing arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.46.
2019 INDIANA STATE GAMES: Projectable 6-foot-3, 165 pound frame with room to fill out. Long, loose high ¾ arm action. Showed a velocity increase since the last time we saw him back in February. Sat 84-85 with a 71-74 mph breaking ball, 11/5 shape with depth. Athletic prospect should continue to be a strong follow throughout the summer.
1/6/2019: Bryce Franklin, SS/RHP, South Ripley HS, 2021, 6 foot 3, 165 pounds, Hits out of a slightly open balanced stance. Creates good bat speed, bat path and rhythm with a wiry frame to produce a max exit velo of 82. Showed solid defensive actions using a short arm action to throw 82 across the diamond. On the mound, Bryce uses a much longer and loose arm action from a high ¾ slot that produced a max velocity of 81 mph. He spun a short 11/5 CB at 70-71, and also showed a CH at 70-72. Bryce is a very intriguing player with athleticism and a lot of projection in his body. Expect his tools to get much better in the near future.
