Position: RHP
Body: 6-foot-4, 185-pound lanky frame
Pitching: Projectable. Drop-and-drive delivery, some effort. Over-the-top arm angle, consistent arm speed, loose arm action. Athletic balance point, uphill shoulders, lands soft, an upright finish.
FB: T88. 86-87 mph. Tight action, arm side accuracy, tight movement.
CB: 71-73 mph. Sinking action, occasional control, 12/6 movement.
CH: 75-77 mph. Swing and miss action, occasional control, sharp movement.
Covenant High School, Class of 2022; 6-foot-3, 175-pound RHP/SS. At the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 73 mph. Starts in an open stance, uses rhythm in his hands and has a slight leg kick. While in the infield, he registered his best throw across the diamond at 80 mph. Showed athletic actions and got to each ball smoothly. His hands were clean; threw from a side slot. During the event, he clocked a 60 time of 7.29. On the mound, he uses a long arm action, has good arm speed and hides the ball well. Consistently located low in the zone and had good actions on off speed pitches. Most productive low in the zone. Was very effective on the mound; kept hitters off balance throughout the day. His fastball was clocked sitting at 82-83 mph and topped out at 84 mph. He showed the most control on his curveball (69-71 mph) when he stayed on top. Shows ability not only in the field, but also on the mound.
7/24/18: 2022 RHP/MIF hits from the right side. Showed a quick bat during his round of BP. Bat path is level and stays in the zone longer. Showed line drive ability to the gaps, mainly worked the middle of the field during his round. Uses lower half well in swing. Posted an exit velo of 78. In the field feet worked through the baseball. Exchange was quick but hands not together when fielding. Arm strength across the diamond was 77. On the mound pitches from high ¾ arm slot, some projection to lanky frame. Arm stroke is a full circle, loose and free. Stays in line throughout delivery. Delivery is repeatable and clean. FB showed some arm side at times at 75-77. Showed 12/6 shape CB at 68-72.
