10/15/17: 6-foot-2, 210 pound pitcher has a stocky frame with fastball sitting 78-80. Drop and drive type delivery with some rhythm. Stiff lower half. Lands squared with an upright finish. Fastball is straight, commanded to both sides of plate. Curveball has loopy, downer action at 68-71. Slider has more late break at 69-71. Feel for multiple pitches around the strike zone. Hits from a tall, open setup. Leg kick into short stride. Partial use of lower half. Lacks separation. Level path to contact. Creates some extension with a quick barrel turn. High exit velocity of 86mph. Defensively, hands are average with clean transfer into release. Throws topped 75 across the infield with some accuracy.
2/22/15: PITCHING- 5-foot-10, 165 pound right-hander pitches from a slot, long arm action. Choppy rhythm in the delivery, level shoulders. Lands closed, falls off, finishing upright. Needs to improve his front side. Fastball was flat at 70-72, thrown for a strike. 58-61 mph 10/4 breaking ball shows gradual movement but slows his arm down. Slows his arm down on the changeup as well. Change sat 59-60 with sink, thrown for a strike.
Showcased hard hands and slow actions at 3B. Across the diamond was 72 mph. At the plate hits out of an open setup. Hands are high. Minimal load, dives during his stride. Partial use of his lower half. Fair balance throughout the swing. Average bat speed. Recorded a high exit velo of 73 mph.
