A projectable 6-foot-0, 160-pound frame, Hands had a quality start on the mound Friday night for the On Deck Black. The right-hander tossed five innings allowing one run, two hits, and six walks while striking out five. While the command wasn’t there early, Hands was able to find it in the later innings, getting a better feel for his two pitches. The fastball was at 77-82 mph while the curveball was at 70-71 mph. Hands fastball generated lots of ride through the zone and was able to collect a multitude of whiffs. The constancy of the curveball is still developing, but the shape is effective when on. The tall righty had quick arm action and was able to work out of a couple of early jams. As Hands continues to develop he is a player to keep an eye on this summer.

Possessing an athletic and strong 160-pound frame with room for growth, Braylen Hands got the job done for On Deck Black. In the bottom of the seventh with no runners on base while being tied 3-3 with one out, Hands hits a deep shot to left field that left the yard. Mechanically, Hands displays a slightly crouched power stance with compact swing and quick bat speed.
