Spring Scout Blog: The 6'4", 170 pounder sat 83-84 for seven innings touching 85 a couple times. Finished with giving up three runs on seven hits and striking out eleven. Long, lanky lefty has loose arm that created good arm side sink on the fastball and spun a good breaking ball. Curveball was 71-73 with big 2/7 downward break on it. Plus breaking pitch thrown for strike and at back foot of righties for strikeouts. Worked all out of the stretch with big upward leg lift and twist at the top creating deception with release at 3/4 arm slot. Lower body works athletic and well down the mound. Good release and direction down the mound, with good feel and repeatability. Mixed both slide step and high leg lift read move with runners on. Threw a lot of strikes and attacked hitters with two pitch mix. Projects well at next level with more strength and weight to add to frame.
7/15/16: Uncommitted southpaw stands in at 6-foot-4, 175 pounds. Long, lanky frame, long levers. Delivery is unorthodox, pitches from a 3/4 arm action with above average arm speed. Fastball sat 80--82 with a 69-71 breaking ball; flashed several with sharp bite.
4/11/19: Quick, one-inning look at a slender built lefty with good arm speed generated from a long, hooking arm path. Featured a hard, big breaking 78-80 mph curveball, but didn't land many for strikes on this look. Potential out pitch, especially to left-handed hitters, with improved command. Worked from the third base side of the rubber, landed slightly closed with a high back leg finish to the plate. Throws with effort, some of which should lessen with future weight/strength gains. Showed scattered control of an 88-90 mph fastball. Committed to NC State. (Seifert)
10/2/18: Slender built, loose armed lefty with plus breaking ball action. Throws with effort, some of which should lessen with future weight/strength gains. Works from the third base side of the rubber, lands slightly closed with a high back leg finish to the plate. Scattered control of 85-86 mph fastball and hard, late biting 78-79 mph curveball with good depth. Strikeout pitch at the next level with refined control. Top level D1 talent with professional level breaking pitch and likely more in the tank with his fastball velo. (Seifert)
