6/12/18: 2019 big framed catcher hits from the right side. Open tall setup in box. Leg lift trigger with bat wrap to swing. Starts hands back and bat barrel starts flat. Bat path is level through zone with average bat speed. Showed line drive type hitter. Behind the dish showed quick exchange with good footwork and above average arm. Pops were in the 1.92-2.01 range.
2/17/18: 6-foot-3, 195 pound catcher showcased a fast barrel with gap to gap power. Twitchy hands, some rhythm in the swing. Athletic setup with leg kick in load. Good balance. High exit velocity of 88mph. Defensively, pop times ranged between 1.92-2.01. Strong arm, inconsistent accuracy. Short, overtop slot with some carry. Average hands, fluid transfer. Physical, stiff frame behind the plate.
9/23/17 - 60 Time: 7.69, Pop Time: 2.02-2.15, Position Velocity: C-73, Exit Velocity: 91
7/24/17: 60 Time: 7.75, Position Velocity: C-71, Exit Velocity: 81. 6-foot-2, 170 pound junior RHH uses a slightly open stance with a big leg lift to close and launch. Load and separation is small, more room to get in the back leg and length in the swing. Front foot lands slightly closed, hips and swing fighting through a firm front side. Hands get set deep off the shoulder, almost locking out the front arm. Hips work through the zone, creating some bat whip through the baseball. Level pull side approach, made consistent contact pull side. Head stayed down through contact and finish. Good setup behind the plate, feet work quick. Feet worked too quick at times, losing some ground force on throws to second base. Stays in athletic position on transfer, more arm strength to be developed. Pop times were 2.09-2.14. Quiet to receive, glove is soft. Receiving elbow works north on outer and lower strike.
