A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+

Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball

Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Lincoln Park (Wheaton Academy) and Zachary Seiler (Libertyville) are two rising seniors to know from the day. Both right-handed hitters, they each worked up to 90 mph for their max EVs, both looking to use the whole field and stay through the baseball while working on top of it. Steady defenders in the infield, both prospects displayed fluid footwork with sure-handed actions.
6/27/24
RHP Zachary Seiler (Libertyville, 2025) showed a knack to spin the baseball throughout his ‘pen on Tuesday. His fastball cruised around 80-82 mph, playing with some carry while spinning up to nearly 2,400 rpm. His curveball and slider are where we really start to see the spin take off, both spinning over 2,500 rpm with sharp action. His final offering was a straight changeup at 75-76 mph, killing spin and landing it for some strikes.
