INF Mason Netcel (St. Charles North) showed extremely well on both sides of the ball throughout gameplay. He’s an athletic defender with easy range to both sides of his glove, pairing with soft/confident hands that work in sync with his feet through the ball. At the plate, the right-handed hitter took pitches out of the zone with confidence, also appearing extremely comfortable in the box. There’s some whip in his barrel as he gets through the zone with a flat path and extension out front, reaching up to 95 mph for his max EV in the workout.
6/25/24
Uncommitted, strong frame at 5’11” 170lbs. Got a good look at Netcel on both sides of the ball during pool play. He certainly looks the part of a solid middle infielder, showing off some rangy athleticism and a solid arm. The hands looked smooth, and he really impressed up the middle of the field. At the plate, he sets up neutral and uses a minimal leg lift for timing. It’s a fairly compact swing with good feel for the barrel and a solid approach. Works through the middle of the field and keeps the barrel on plane throughout the swing. Netcel is an above-average defender that should keep producing on the offensive side with solid bat to ball skills and strength in the frame.
2/24/24
INF Mason Netcel (St. Charles North, 2026) gave an upside look on both sides of the ball. He has a projectable frame at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds, and his right-handed swing holds room for added power as he matures physically. He works long through the zone with an uphill path, creating a max EV of 91 mph while working on the sweet spot 91% of the time according to TrackMan. He showcased some athletic and twitchy actions on the infield to pair with steady hands, reaching up to 82 mph across the diamond.
