Lean, 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame, had several clutch at-bats out of the three spot in the order during Illinois Premier Lis’ Saturday afternoon pool-play game. The right-handed bat went 3-for-3, showcasing a center to pull approach with a pull-side single in the first inning and pull-side RBI single in the sixth inning, in addition to showing off the power with a solo homerun to straightaway centerfield in the third inning. Presented a fluid swing, on-time stride and front foot, still head at the point of contact, forceful hip torque, strong top hand, and a flat bat path. Defensively, he would also contribute at third base with a gloveside diving play and visible first step quickness. A productive day for the uncommitted Liesen.
6/05/24
Uncommitted. 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame, lean and athletic, still holds plenty of room for added strength. The right-handed hitter was taking quality at-bats all game, not resulting in any hits but lining out with a couple barrels to the outfield. He has a simple operation that stays on-time, working flat and through the zone with quick hands. Moves well around the third base bag, soft hands with fluid footwork, made a diving catch in-game and made it look easy, quick reactions. 2026 in the state to follow.
4/24/24
The Rams went 3-1 last week with wins over Richards (4-0 & 8-3) and Bremen (4-0), and Liesen was a big reason why. The sophomore went 7-for-14 with three doubles, three home runs, two walks, seven RBI, six runs scored, and a stolen base to make for a strong, well-rounded offensive performance last week.
